I made it!

Just arriving in Japan

sunny

Konnichiha from Narita International Airport!

After two hours of waiting in a rather chaotic line at customs, I have finally reached my domestic departure gate for Fukuoka. I truly wish I could stay in Tokyo and take in the city as the area visible outside the windows are even gorgeous beyond compare.

The funny thing I've noticed about Narita is that every single employee looks like they could be in the yokoso travel Japan brochure. They are all young, attractive people with very big smiles. Everyone has been super hospitable and have humored my attempts to communicate in Japanese.

The domestic travel area in Narita Airport is significantly smaller than the rest of the airport, with only five gates and one common waiting area. There is only one snack shop behind security. Luckily they take credit cards and I was able to have my first taste of authentic miso-ramen. It was tasty although not in the way one would expect, the beef tasted much better than in America.

Flight boards in 15 minutes. Two more hours and then I have to traverse the streets of Fukuoka to find my hotel. Let's hope I make it!
